In partnership with Pandora, I led the design of their first Windows universal application ahead of the 2015 Windows 10 launch. Having core music experiences is crucial for Windows products, so I was asked to extend their music offering to the responsive Windows 10 app platform.
Because Windows universal app patterns differed from iOS and Android versions, my role was to help navigate the design to arrive at a compromise both parties were pleased with.
It was important that the architecture and interaction of the Windows Pandora application be familiar to both web and iOS/Android users. I helped to craft comprehensive user flows and wireframes to document how users sign up, navigate, and interact with the application. These explorations were crucial to establish consensus from the many stakeholders in the project.
The newly designed Windows app adopted the Pandora branding and style at the time, while taking advantage of the scalable Windows controls. Pandora was widely adopted across Windows devices at its first release and continues to evolve today.
